What is a Brick Library?
Similar to a physical library, a brick library lets you check out sets, build them, return them, and take out more!
Who is this for?
Any brick lover out there who doesn't want to own 500 sets! We have options for the casual builder, the avid builder, and families.
Yeah but…. aren't there already brick borrowing services that you can subscribe to? Read on to learn why local is better!
Where is the Lexington Brick Library?
This is a local small business, so we'll run lean initially to test the waters - location TBD, but somewhere central to Lexington, Arlington, and Winchester.
How much will it cost to be a member of the Lexington Brick Library?
We're still finalizing the cost, but we anticipate the monthly membership will range from $20 (individual) to $45 (family)
Will there be more than one tier of membership?
Yes, we are initially considering the following plans: Casual individual - check out 1 set at a time More serious individual - check out 2 sets at a time Family - check out 3 sets at a time
How will you keep track of pieces?
We are working out a system to quickly tell if sets are missing pieces or not. Instruction booklets will be maintained as long as they are in decent shape, but digital instructions will also be shared. Sets will be taken out of circulation while we obtain missing pieces; we don't really want anyone building sets that aren't complete.
What if people don't return sets, pieces, or minifigs?
We're aiming to attract brick building enthusiasts who love sharing the building experience with others; as enthusiasts ourselves, we understand the piece gremlin sometimes eats small bits. However, we will likely implement a three strike policy before suspending membership for anyone who habitually returns sets missing key pieces.
